In order to enhance the development environment of the capital and drive the sustainable, rapid and balanced development of its economy, Beijing Municipal has begun to draft “Patent protection and Promotion Provisions of Beijing Municipal” since 2004 and passed it at the 12th meeting of the Standing Committee of the Twelfth Beijing People's Congress on May 20, 2005. On October 1, 2005, “Patent protection and Promotion Provisions of Beijing Municipal” has come into force.
